Prof. Jagath Chandana Rajapakse

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Bio:

Jagath Rajapakse is Professor of College of Computing & Data Science at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He has BSc degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Moratuwa (UM), Sri Lanka, and MS and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University at Buffalo (UB), USA. He was Visiting Scientist to the Max-Planck Institute of Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Germany, and the National Institute of Mental Health, USA. He was Visiting Professor to the Department of Biological Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He serves as Editor for Engineering Applications in Artificial Intelligence journal (IF = 7.802) and served as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on medical imaging, IEEE Transaction on neural networks and learning systems, and IEEE Transactions on computational biology and bioinformatics. He was a Fulbright Scholar and appointed IEEE Fellow in 2012 in recognition of his contributions to brain image analysis.

Prof. Tony Quek

Singapore University of Technology and Design

IEEE Fellow, Fellow of Academy of Engineering Singapore

Bio: Tony Q.S. Quek received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, respectively. At Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he earned the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Currently, he is the Cheng Tsang Man Chair Professor with Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and ST Engineering Distinguished Professor. He also serves as the Director of the Future Communications R&D Programme, the Head of ISTD Pillar, and the AI-on-RAN Working Group Chair in AI-RAN Alliance. His current research topics include wireless communications and networking, network intelligence, non-terrestrial networks, open radio access network, and 6G. He received the 2008 Philip Yeo Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Research, the 2012 IEEE William R. Bennett Prize, the 2016 IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award, the 2017 CTTC Early Achievement Award, the 2017 IEEE ComSoc AP Outstanding Paper Award, the 2020 IEEE Communications Society Young Author Best Paper Award, the 2020 IEEE Stephen O. Rice Prize, the 2020 Nokia Visiting Professorship, the 2022 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award, and the 2024 IIT Bombay International Award For Excellence in Research in Engineering and Technology. He is an IEEE Fellow, a WWRF Fellow, and a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore.

Prof. Yang Yang

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)

IEEE Fellow

Bio: Professor Yang Yang is the Associate Vice-President for Teaching and Learning, a professor with the Internet of Things Thrust, and the Director of the HKUST(GZ)-Terminus Joint Research Center for Digital World with Intelligent Things (DOIT) at HKUST(GZ), China. He is responsible for establishing and improving a digital academic registrar system as well as coordinating the teaching resources across the entire university.

Professor Yang was a member of the Academic Board at University College London (UCL) and a member of the Advisory Committee of Information Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prior to joining HKUST(GZ), he had served ShanghaiTech University for more than 10 years, as the Vice Dean of School of Information Science and Technology, the Director of Office of Academic and Student Affairs, the Executive Dean of School of Creativity and Art, and the Founding Master of Kedao College. From June 2023 to August 2024, he was the Dean of College of Education Sciences at HKUST (GZ). He has accumulated rich experiences in different fields of higher education, such as student interview and recruitment processes, degree program developments, whole-person cultivation plans, interdisciplinary curriculum designs, technological and pedagogical innovations, performance evaluation methods, undergraduate mentoring and career services at the collegiate system.

Prof. Yiu-ming Cheung

Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong

IEEE Fellow and IET Fellow

Bio: Yiu-ming Cheung is currently a Chair Professor (Artificial Intelligence) of the Department of Computer Science, Dean of Institute for Research and Continuing Education (IRACE), and Associate Director of Institute of Computational and Theoretical Studies in Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). He received PhD degree from Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2000, and then joined the Department of Computer Science at HKBU in 2001. He is a member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and an IEEE Fellow, AAAS Fellow, IAPR Fellow, IET Fellow, and British Computer Society (BCS) Fellow. He is the awardee of RGC Senior Research Fellow with receiving a fellowship grant of HK$7.8 million over a period of 60 months. Since 2019, he has been ranked the World’s Top 1% Most-cited Scientists in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing by Stanford University for six consecutive years. Furthermore, he has been elected as a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, and named a Chair Professor of Changjiang Scholars Program by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China for the dedication and exceptional achievements in his academic career. In addition, he is serving as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence.
